About the Author and Contact Information

Laurie Flood is a California-credentialed, former lead English teacher and teacher trainer and is National Board Certified.  She is credentialed by the state of California to teach English both to native speakers and to students who are learning English as a second language and has a California Single Subject English as well as a Multiple Subjects credential.   She has taught all four core subjects at all grade levels – primary, upper elementary, middle school, and high school.  Her Masters is in Education with a specialization of Teaching English as a Second Language.  She has received extensive training in remedial reading and writing for all students and taught remedial reading and writing and Honors English courses in addition to standard English language arts courses.  Her lessons are conducted online via Skype, a free video telephony program, and Google Docs concurrently.  This allows the teacher and student to see each other, speak with each other, and simultaneously work on a document in real time.
